Biography
A somewhat obsessive perfectionist mapmaker who insists on overdecorating every map he creates. If it isn't perfectly accurate, or if he makes an error with the embellishments, he'll straight up lose it. He creates his own inks and dyes, sources his brushes and canvases from artisans of the highest caliber he can find, and will often spend months drafting and re-drafting his maps until he is at the very least okay with the end result.
Any explorer worth their salt will own one of his maps purely because of how true-to-life they are; no one has ever gotten lost while in possession of a true Irvine masterpiece. All of his landmark and terrain data comes from said adventurers initially, though he does spend a good time of the year checking for accuracy himself. He's been up and down every coastline, every cliff and ravine, and every forest and meadow throughout the entire Wind territory, with very few exceptions. He is a very Hardy creature, indeed.
He has not wandered into the Autumnal Weald, however, because not even he is foolish enough to mess with the old magic that haunts the place. He has walked its entire perimeter, however, and has seen enough of the strange beasts within to be able to illustrate them in the blank spaces on his maps where the forest would be. He is one of the lucky few to have seen the Eigengrau's glimmering eyes in the blackness of the bush, having been just far enough out of range to avoid its entoxicating whispers...
His adventures would make for a very interesting read, but they've never interested him at all because they were never his goal. He might remember a detail or two of the time he climbed up the Plateau's tallest face if someone specifically asks what it was like; otherwise, he doesn't really care to tell tales of his 'bothering about because, in the end, all he cares for is that his maps are correct.
He can be quite hard to be around, as he is also a tad bit pretentious and high-strung. He is so hyper-fixated on his craft that he really doesn't have time for much else.
