“Dragons do not love me as they once did.” Said the sun, looking down upon the dragons below. “Perhaps I should come down from the heavens to see why that is so.” And so the Sun did, transforming into a common dragon, a nocturne dragon, to investigate why the dragons were ignoring him. His trusty Solarflare turned into a Phoenix to follow him around and help the poor celestial. His eyes shone bright with the power of the sun, making him an oddity to the other passing dragons. He started asking around on why the people did not worship the sun like they had once worshipped him.
“We don’t need the sun to grow crops anymore, we forage for our clans.” Answered one dragon.
“It gets too hot in the summer, why worship that?” Answered another.
“Darn thing gets too bright in my eyes.” Answered a third and much older dragon. This brought the sun sorrow, did the dragons really not love him anymore? He was the sun, a beacon of radiance across the solar system to be worshipped by all! But not by these dragons it seemed…
The sun did not let this dishearten him, he would be worshipped and greeted by people in the Dawn, he simply had to find the right one to worships him. He took on the name ‘Helios’, a name gifted to him by those looking at his colors and his eyes. A scryer suggested he become an Aether dragon, an ancient species of dragon that returned from the stars. “Perhaps if I look like I am fiery radiance descended from stars, stars like myself, then the dragons will love me again!” The Sun liked this idea, so he set off to find just the right people for his worshippers. Dragons who will ‘Greet the Shining Sun’.
