Biography

C A D W A L A D R
Dream Witch
Dream Witch

Lassuarium had no clue where she was, and yet, she didn't care. She found herself where stars lapped at the shimmering shore, where waters chimed and the sky fluttered as the moon burst from a chrysalis. She felt at peace in awe. She was dreaming. Swaddled in colours and smells new yet somehow familiar. The light of the sun was a lullaby to her soul.
She'd never had a dream like this; usually they were addled, strangled visions of anxiety. She would content herself to watch the sea-glimmer play on the endless waters in this moment and thanked the Lightweaver for this blessing. She often took camomile tea foraged by Semper and Virid's sleeping remedies to soothe herself. She didn't wish to bother the clan too much.
"I'm glad to see her sleeping soundly..."
The voice came like a breeze, she perked her ears and turned to find the speaker. Nothing. No one.
"...Cad?" She said the name softly, a name she hadn't spoken in almost a decade, "Cad?" She spoke more bravely, watching the sky for a shadow in the clouds.
No answer, no shadow, no pawprints in the golden sands.
She took a deep breath. So this was a nightmare after all. A cruel trick of the mind, mocking her with someone she had lost.
"Rest, love..."
"Cadwaladr!" She cried, her voice breaking, "Is that you? Please just let me remember your face!"
"Rest, my Lass."
"CAD!"

Lassuarium woke with a shout, leaping up from her nest of blankets and scattering them about her chamber. She almost charged right into Tonka who was wide-eyed and nose-to-nose with her as she halted.
Tonka patted her mane with his paw, combing her fur back in place,
"Are you quite alright?"
"Yes, yes..." She panted, gathering her breath and shaking her fur out, her cold sweat soon wearing off, "It was a nightmare. That's all, don't trouble yourself. Its first light, is it urgent?"
"I'm sorry, Lassuarium, I know I shouldn't have disturbed you b-but-- well, he insisted." Tonka pointed to her balcony and sheepishly bowed his head, "I've never seen him before but he said he knew you..."
Lassuarium quirked an eyebrow and turned.
"I was trying to give you a nice dream."
A tall male tundra perched on the balcony, his face apologetic as he tried to hide his excitement.
He was... different. His fur were tinged indigo, his face was drawn and his eyes were tired. But his scent was unmistakable; sea spray and night air, lavender and black tea. It was her dream come true.
"Cad..."

Lassuarium couldn't manage another word before she bounded over to him. They clashed in a deep, tight hug.
She buried herself into his mane and inhaled his warm scent. His downy fur drying her eyes as she welled up. He wrapped his wings about her shoulders as she set her wings down to cover him; it had been so
long since someone had held her this way.
"You're back."
"I'm back." He said, muffled as he nuzzled into her, "I'm back for good, if you'll have me..."
Lassuarium pulled back and chirped in shock, "Of course I will! I mean-- of course, we shall! You're welcome in the clan-- our clan!"
Cad laughed and ruffled her fur with the crook of his wing, "It is your clan, love, you built it from a small burrow to this astounding tower... It's everything we talked about... it's beyond what I could have imagined."
"You made the plans, you encouraged me out of the monastery, you gave me the dreams...!"
"Don't make my head big, Lass." He pushed her playfully before bowing low, "I am here to serve under your wishes, as I always have."
Lassuarium kissed him. They stood together in a perfect silence before taking a flight of pure joy together in the dawn. To be exalted and accepted to the Lightweaver's throng was a miracle; to return was beyond what she could have ever imagined.
