The Origin of the Clan

Part I

Once considered the clan matriarch, Isale started up the now Nature clan. Before, the clan was positioned in the Wind flight.

For the longest time she lived without a charge, but come to find out her charge was her clan. At first this went along smoothly and she couldn't have been happier. She took in hatchlings and encouraged them go off on their own once they grew up, as going with the wind was their flight's way.

Time passed and things continued to run well. A rivaling harpy Beastclan had made their presence known, but this did not worry her as she and her mate, Golem, had a secure lair and territory. The clan made a request wanting Isale to assist their people who were being harassed by a ragtag of mirrors in the area. According to the harpies, it was a dire situation as the mirrors were taking their food and belongings as well as violently abusing the clan's people. Brushing them off, Isale claimed that regardless, her clan had more important things to be doing, offended by the implication that her clan would assist beasts in the first place. Their offered sum of treasure was little, and it was clear her beloved clan had nothing to gain in return.


The harpies pleaded, but Isale would not hear it. Her clan's safety was precious, and valued by Isale more than some other group of beasts. So she had her sentinels throw them out. The guardian assumed this world be the last she heard of them, but it was not.

They returned, offering her all their saved treasure for her clan's assistance. It was a pathetic amount, and in all honestly Isale had to politely decline. She almost felt bad for the harpies, but yet again she felt she was doing her job as a protector of her charge.

This time, the harpies were crushed. They claimed no other clan in the area would even see them, and Isale was their only option. Too small a Beastclan to fend off dragons on their own, they were utterly helpless as now the Mirrors had taken primary control over the Beastclan. Essentially slaves, the harpies were clearly desperate.

Yet again Isale sent them away. A little hatchling born in her clan stood next to her this time, his seafoam green hide shining under the sun. With an innocent voice, he asked with genuine curiousity. "Why wouldn't you help them, Mother?"

Lowering her head, she met the little skydancer's gaze with warmth. Next to the hatchling, she was massive. A small misplacement of her foot would end him for sure, but the trust he bore towards her ran deep.
With low rumble in her voice, she replied with simply, "dragons and beasts are not one in the same, little one."

The clan matriarch. Everyone in the clan sees her as a motherly figure. She says she has children for one purpose and that is to help the Wind flight gain dominance.

Personality:

Seen as the strong motherly figure of the clan. She is kind and gentle to her clan, but there is something they don't know about her. She lies, she deceives, and she has horrifying intentions that no one but her knows about.

History:

Isale was once a fae, before her desires twisted and changed her into something else. She sought power and respect. In her eyes, her diminutive frame would never earn her this. So one day Isale returned as a guardian dragon. Her pale gray hide and beautiful purple wings had darkened to a rich brown, and her attitude had morphed into something much more insufferable.

Soon she moved her wind clan to the forests of the nature flight. The move was met with much resistance, but there was little to be done about it. Their ties to neighboring clans had been severed, and soon the clan was widely hated by all surrounding clans. It was no longer safe for the wind clan in their homeland.

Who was to thank for this? The obvious answer would be Isale. Bold of you to assume the clan could simply kick her to the curb. No, well.. the wind clan always was full of refugees and those down on their luck, or suffering the consequences of their own misdeeds.

They were those who had nothing. Those who were already hated.

So they either followed her because they found solidarity in this clan, or because they had little choice. Besides, how bad could the viridian labyrinth be anyway? It was lush, and green... Much like their homeland.

And Isale promised it would be abundant with resources.

Well, it was. But this particular location they moved into, to force themselves into isolation within the nature flight— it soon proved to be very dangerous.
