These small reptiles are shy and solitary creatures and are most commonly found on the islands of Oceania and share a commonality with other skinks by having bone plates under their scales. This species of skink only lays one egg at a time. There are glands on the male skinks feet that are meant to attract females for mating. They typically are found somewhere low and near water under low vegetation for better insect hunting.
