Clan Role: Warrior

Ciryn met Shiika on the battlefield, having challenged her to a duel over a spot of land that Shiika planned on using for her lair's expansion. He was a single Ridgeback, without a mate or a family. He thought it fair that he called the land his own; likewise, Shiika thought it far to ask that he move. They eventually settled on dueling, though Yuu (Shiika's mate) stepped in for the female, as it is the male Guardian's duty to defend his mate.

After a long battle resulting in Ciryn's defeat, Shiika returned from the sidelines. She looked down at the defeated Ridgeback who scowled up at her in disdain. Calm and kindly, as was Shiika's way, she offered the Ridgeback a place within her clan. If the Ridgeback agreed, he would have his own spot within the clan; and if he preferred the spot they dueled upon, then he may have it. There was one condition: Ciryn must serve as a warrior for the clan, willing to risk his life if required. Ciryn, already living dangerously, took up on the offer.

To this day, Ciryn remains with the clan. His primary role is being one of the clan's strongest warriors, wearing armor forged out of steel and the trophies of his hunts. He wears the armor proudly, not once regretting his decision to join Shiika's clan. After Shiika's passing, Ciryn slowly started to become more aggressive towards the clan's enemies, feeling more responsible for his duties. He is old, but his strength has not faltered. He has turned away from his magical abilities, as the powers of the light are not welcome in the Shadowbinder's domain- let alone a clan under her influence.

Around his neck is a sturdy string attached to a long, shimmering silver horn. He has told stories of the horn and continues to do so; he tells tales of
a great beast he once hunted in the outskirts of the Sunbeam Ruins when he still lived there. The horn is his trophy of the mighty beast's death and serves as a symbol of his strength.
