Biography
A Bogsneak afflicted by magical overload, Curly's body is grown in and through by a myriad of plants. In spite of this, they manage to stay in good spirits, and do their best to help others in the depths of Nature.
They were a normal Bogsneak, once.
Some would call it difficult to call the alchemical breed "normal", but as far as one can go, Curly was. Born to parents some generations down from alchemists who had tested the Cauldron's mettle, in the harsh Icefield, but was brought to the marshes of the Worldedge Wetlands in order to better thrive. And it was true; they did thrive in the marshes there, far better than otherwise.
But one day they ventured too deep; and it was there that they were stuck.
Even after all of these years, they don't know what struck. It could've been a dragon, or a beast; and that would make sense. It doesn't really make sense that it was a spontaneous flare of magic, but maybe it does considering they weren't of Nature originally...
But even if it makes less sense, they stick with the explanation of a magical flare. They don't want to resent someone for all their life.
Regardless of what, all they know is that something struck their body and riddled it with Nature. It overflowed their body, seeped out of their skin, and made bark and leaf take root.
It hurt. It hurt worse than anything else. But they had stepped into whatever accident or trap had been made, and the energy swallowed them whole.
They sat there unmoving for a long while, undistinguishable from the surrounding brush. Their now-loglike body shuddered in recoil from the intense magic, and their eyes remained closed as they processed it all.
But then, one day, they opened their eyes once more.
Their body had hardened from the overload, and learned to adapt with it in turn. And when they began to shudder to life again, the hardened wood served as a new shield, the leaves an ambient source of energy.
Nature wove through them, and they came out alive. They think that has to be proof of something, right?

- Curly spends most of their time in the Shrieking Wilds, looking out for other dragons. They've never seen someone else with their specific case, but they want to be there for them when it happens, instead of leaving them alone like they had been.
- Curly is functionally immune to Nature magic now. It weaves into their body and causes more growths, yes, but it's not nearly as painful as the first time.
- Mossy is a Shovelsnout that was drawn to Curly by their vaugely-similar appearance as has stuck with them since. They like the little creature; they're a handy companion, and eat away at any pests on their body too!
