From the moment that she hatched, Ajda had always been on the move. She was the first nest of a first-generation Obelisk that had been adopted out of the Dig by a clan of nomadic Snappers, begetting Ajda and her nestmates with a fellow traveller who accompanied the clan for a time. Ajda was the last hatched, and the last to leave as well; when all of her older siblings felt the gods calling their names, she remained resolutely by her mother's side. It didn't take long for the young Ajda to obtain a reputation for stubbornness, a trait that suited her family well in the harsh conditions they often found themselves trekking over.

Many travelling dragon clans follow the migratory paths of animals, and Ajda's clan was no different. They were always close on the tail of a trunker herd that circled the tundras of the Southern Icefield, forming a symbiotic relationship with the beasts. The clan cared for them, and the trunkers provided. With her hard-headed nature and willingness to pay attention, Ajda quickly fell into a ranching role for the trunkers she grew up alongside, learning how to keep them healthy and strong from elders who knew more than her. She may not have gotten along with most other dragons, but with animals, Ajda was a natural.

It was her predilection towards being antisocial that eventually encouraged Ajda to finally leave her home clan. She had heard many stories of the Dustcarve Dig and the Earthshaker from her mother growing up, and being constantly trapped in a loop of the same territory for years on end didn't suit her. It made her feel aimless, pointless, and she couldn't help but wonder what her breed's patron god could have possibly wanted from her kind. So she decided to find out, and set off to Dragonhome in search of her destiny.

Whilst in Dragonhome, it didn't take Ajda long to learn about the Temple of Stone's Creed, which had been established for some time but was still finding its own legs. She felt inspired by the Temple's message and, once she got there, offered to ply her services as a rancher in their name. It was an easy acceptance, and soon, Ajda found herself as Chief Foreman Benign's right-hand dragon in caring for the Temple's growing herds.

Though she's far from the friendliest dragon in the Temple, Ajda enjoys her new work with the herds of the Grainfield and their care. Under her supervision, the animals that feed and support the Temple's mission have become far more robust and healthy, and she's even found a new passion in husbandry. The intricacies of animal genetics capture her attention like none other, and she's devoted to breeding new kinds of goat that can withstand the drought of Dragonhome better. Best of all? She's allowed to work as privately as she likes.

◈ Despite their shared reclusive natures, Ajda and Benign are actually quite good friends. They can often be seen going on quiet walks together, saying almost nothing the whole while.
◈ Ajda has a fondness for birds, and keeps three chickens as her pets; their names are Ruby, Russet and Rusty. She also keeps her familiar, a grouse basilisk, with them. If any predator tries to attack her beloved hens, Rooster is always there to give them a nasty surprise.
