Biography

Lore (Thanks, slipfast!):
Everyone knows Plague is culling. It takes what is not strong enough to survive, and throws gauntlet after gauntlet down at who is left. The Scarred Wasteland is a desolate place, and the dragons who attempt to live within it fight against the land’s Mother herself: the Plaguebringer.

But Mannix is different.

His parents were brave, he’ll give them that. Originally from Light and Arcane, they came together and set off to start their own family, their own clan, in a land that was not welcoming to them. They chose to nest in Plague’s domain, though Mannix couldn’t fathom why, and try to raise their hatchlings along the surface of that living scar. Despite the fact that they had no clan nor connection to Plague magic – perhaps the most crucial necessity.

Mannix was born on a spring night in the middle of a squall, along with two sisters. He remembers little of those early days (little of his family), but he can recall the red of the earth around him and the feeling of his sister’s bodies pressed against him for warmth. He was not yet grown enough to fly on his own when his father and sisters succumbed to the leeching magic around them. His mother disappeared soon after, leaving Mannix alone. He didn’t mind so much, however, once he realized what he was.

In Plague, the word immune is a powerful one, and not a gift to be taken lightly. Mannix is superior to most, if not all dragons, in this: he is immune to all pestilence and ailment, because of his eyes. Though he doesn’t understand it fully, Mannix’s eyes carry a magic within them, making him almost completely immune to disease.

The Scarred Wasteland cannot reach him. The Plaguebringer cannot touch him. Mannix is a being unto himself, unhounded by death even as he walks among the most insidious territory in Sornieth.

Quirks:
- Because of his birth, he believes himself to be special and above all others
- He meticulously grooms his feathers every day, and throws a fit if they are ruined
- Talks in an eloquent manner that few understand
- Enjoys gross and unique food
