There’s a sweet spot, when it comes to handling Kudzu. Sometimes you do want him to visit, but you never want him to stay too long. When he drops by, your garden chokes up its bounty out-of-season; your flowers unfurl and then kill themselves trying to bloom more; your vines snap shingles off your roof. Sometimes you want an extra pumpkin but you don’t want to drown in artichoke - and those times, the key is to ask him in for tea (he’s very polite and would never refuse) and then serve hibiscus (his least favourite).
