Munch looked thoughtfully at the garden's gates. Although the wood had only been replaced last week, the Scarred Wasteland's moist air and abundant bacteria had quickly rotted out a majority of the fence posts. He sighed, letting out a tired chuckle. "I suppose someone other than me is going to have to replace it this time." "I'll probably do that once we're done." A younger voice rang out from behind him. Munch didn't need to turn around to tell it was Thorn. Now that Munch was to replace the previous Roaming Garden, Thorn was the oldest of the gardeners. Because of this, it would be his job to proceed with the replacement ritual. If Munch closed his eyes, he could pretend Thorn was still the young hatchling that had been his apprentice so long ago. Or, at least he could until Thorn gently bumped a broad (and distinctively not hatchling-like) shoulder against his. "Are... are you alright? You aren't actually that upset about the fence, are you?"

"No, I'm not." Munch opened his eyes. "I'm just... I just wanted to make one last contribution, you know? Before I'm gone for good." Thorn looked at him in an inquisitive manner.

"Why would you be worrying about that? This is the biggest contribution you could ever make! Heck, even after you're still contributing, you'll be growing our entire stock of plants! They'll be speaking of your name for longer than they will any of our's, that's for sure!"
