Entity Appearance:

Entity presents itself as a male Imperial of impressive height upon first interaction. Prolonged exposure to the entity will cause its abnormal properties to begin manifesting.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Behavior:

Outside of scheduled medical examination and maintenance to his enclosure, the entity prefers to be left undisturbed by museum staff. He has been observed to respond to moderate crowds positively, though he does not interact directly with museum patrons.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Recovery:

First sightings of the entity occurred on the northern shores of the Viridian Labyrinth following a period of heavy thunderstorm activity. His presence was not initially noticeable to the local inhabitants until a lack of large and predatory fish inhabiting the surrounding ocean was observed. Further investigation led to the unintentional provocation of the at-the-time unidentified entity, resulting in several casualties.

The museum became aware of the entity after this incident, when word of a hunting party being sent after the supposed "sea monster" was recorded. Recovery team Delta was dispatched along with Researcher Zin-Weng to ascertain the validity of the claims. They were able to forestall the angry locals for several days, allowing for their own surveillance of the entity.

Researcher Zin-Weng noted that aside from an hour or so every day when he emerged to sun himself, the entity appeared to prefer remaining submerged. Delta Team began the process of readying for an aquatic recovery, when the entity approached museum personnel's outpost of its own volition. On a whim, Researcher Zin-Weng called out to him, sighting it as "an opportunity to test basic intelligence before engaging."

To museum personnel's surprise, the entity not only reacted to the greeting, but raised his head above water to respond to it. This led to Researcher Zin-Weng and Delta Team Leader [Name] engaging the entity- henceforth referred to by his preferred name of "Thass" -in diplomatic relations while attempting to ascertain the potential risk level. Conversation proved that while Thass was of a predatory nature, he was not interested in hunting dragons, provided they left him alone.

Researcher Zin-Weng proposed a voluntary relocation to the Museum and, after some negotiation, Thass agreed. Delta Team provided the necessary transportation and support while Researcher Zin-Weng returned ahead of the recovery team to prepare the enclosure designed by Thass' input.

Several changes were implemented upon his arrival, including: more plant-life; higher salinity water; conditions to mimic mid-level sea life; the heightening of the enclosure to allow for a large rock outcropping to be added, along with sunlight-spelled mirrors set to shine for several hours each day.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Description:

When 30% or more of Thass' physical body is above water, he will appear to most onlookers to be a large, but ultimately normal Imperial. However, when asked to observe more closely, tests revealed an alarming increase in abnormal anatomy and physical features including, but not limited to: a second set of jaws below the first; multiple rows of "incredibly sharp" teeth; webbed appendages; scales with a roughened, almost jagged texture; both mane and tail appearing adorned with multiple rows of fins, rather than fur.

The submerged portion of Thass' body remains mostly indistinct to those above the water, prompting no abnormal reactions from onlookers. If an individual is in the water with him, however, or able to view the submerged portion of his body- see enclosure type: aquarium, glass -they will immediately note extreme discrepancies between his body and that of a common Imperial.

Researchers have indicated experiencing a specific level of "bone-deep dread" and "instinctive desire to fight / flee" when submerged in water alongside Thass. It is not yet known if this is a natural response to the presence of a superior predator, or an effect he himself creates.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Addendum:

Despite amicable interaction with museum staff, I cannot currently recommend that Thass be moved to an unsecured enclosure. Make no mistake, his capability to hold conversation and use basic tools doesn't make him any less of a predator. It's like someone gave a barracuda the ability to say hello. He's still going to go in for the kill if you let your guard down.
