Dragons of this kind are entirely mute, though some theorize that this is a choice on their part. The moon is said to be their god, but in reality it is more of a part of themselves in some way; an external manifestation of their collective soul that rules the changes in their body, appetite and behavior. On the new moon, they hibernate, waiting for the first sliver of lunar light to suffuse the night sky. As the moon waxes, their appetites grow, and their scales grow brighter and paler. When the full moon rises, their blood is inflamed with an ecstatic frenzy, and they spend the night hunting, gathering with nocturnal spirits and soaring through the black sky. Finally, as the moon wanes, they grow more restful and calculated, receding into themselves in silence.
