Biography
I wasn't born with beauty or grace, but the Madam favored me. She claimed that I had the purest of blood and that my parents, grandparents, and ancestors would be proud of how far their work had come. That my blood ran true to the ancient imperials and perhaps my genetics would rival those of the firstborn of my breed.
I didn't know what she meant, but I appreciated her pride in me, the love she gave me in place of my parents, whom I had never met. I lived with her in her cottage, with her mate of whom she could never have children with and those that she simply called the "Ghosts." Forever, she kept me separated from the rest of the clan, raising me to be a polite, softspoken young lady, perhaps even bookish.
However, it wasn't like she kept me isolated. Sometimes she took me to "work" with her - an odd facility somewhat far from our clan that she kept hidden and protected with magical wards. I was allowed to talk to those that lived in what was called her Laboratory. Dragons hand-picked to aid her in her projects, projects I was never privy to, but according to murmurs from Hospes and Sphaeram, I was one such project at one point, but now I was considered Madam's child, her first pride and joy.
When I grew up, that was when the Madam told me what she believed my true purpose was -to spread my superior genes throughout Sorneith. I fretted though, for I didn't have the looks of other dragons. Surely, no one would think I had a superior bloodline with my splotchy scales or offensively green stomach. The Madam assured me otherwise though, and promised me something - for every 50 hatchlings I had, she would offer me a brand new look, each one more beautiful and rarer than the previous, and then once I had "Ascended" she would let me choose my final look.
Such a task was daunting, but it was my duty, right?
