LIVING GLOBES SUBSPECIES
TRUE LIVING GLOBES
Requirements
Breed: Snapper
Eyes: Earth
Primary Gene: Slime
Secondary Gene: Sludge
Tertiary Gene: Koi
Primary Color: Cobalt
Secondary Color: Cobalt
Tertiary Color: Spring
Many abandoned and determined-to-be unhatchable Earth eggs were collected by the Arcane scientists working at the Oculus of the Eleven. Their plan: to revitalize the eggs and use their latent power to create globes that would change in time with Sorneith’s evolution. Though the use of dragon eggs was contested as unethical, the experiments proceeded. Many eggs were lost or considered only partial successes. Undeterred, the scientists continued to procure Earth eggs, eventually growing so determined as to use eggs that were of less certain fertilization.
Whether or not the Snappers finally produced from these eggs were transformed or created in ovo is a closely guarded secret. But they are the unintentional embodiments of the scientist’s goals: Living Globes, whose hides display in minute detail the oceans and lands of Sornieth. Some show the past, showing mysterious ruins of a time before magic; some are speculated to be the future; but most show parts or in rare cases the whole of Sornieth as it is today.
Living Globes come in three varieties: True Living Globes, which showcase at least one landmass; Oceanic Charts, who have little to no above-water land markings but can show cloud movements and the sea floor; and Faux Globes, who are only of partial Globe heritage and show static markings.
