The trees rumbled, and he peered up to the sky.

Kubos felt free, his claws wrapped around his bow. He gave a pull- Before a shriek came right behind him. He rushed out his dagger, staring at the cause of the noise- Her sister. He gave a grumble, returning his blade to its handle. "Can you QUIT scaring me-" The brother growled, Lakendra only gave cackles, adjusting her swampy appearance. "You don't have to be always so serious, you know only little critters come around!" The giggling sister trilled, pinching at his face. He simply swatted her hands away, obviously embarrassed. "I'm just scouting the area if you don't mind." He scrunched up his nose, instantly turning back. "Scouting what? Food? Kubos! We have food at home." The sister giggled, looking over Kubos's shoulder. "Well mother hunted for her food, so I'd prefer if I could catch my food and not rely on the pile." The brother confidently spoke, raising his head in an egotistical manner. "Well, mother says she wants us to have better lives! Haven't you heard what happened to her?"

Kubos simply rolled his eyes. "Our mother went through depths and back to give us a better life, I'm simply giving it back to her." He spoke sternly, glaring over at Lakendra. She looked practically confused. "...Kubos." She sighed, shaking her head. "To be fair, sister, I'd advise you to do the same!" Kubos intrigued, a small lightbulb popping into his head. "Wait- What if I- Train you!? I can be like your mentor!" The Nocturne spoke excitedly... Lakendra gave a few blinks. "Train me like... How?---" As soon as the sister asked, Kubos just GRABBED her by the shoulders. "I can help learn you how to hunt! Use daggers and bows effectively! Don't you know how fun that'd be!?" The Nocturne cheered, seeming joyous of such a possibility. "Training seems boring." Lakendra huffed, turning her head in denial. Kubos seemed fairly downed by her response. Kubos ALWAYS loved learning new things! How to make arrows, daggers, how to camouflage, so many possibilites!

Lakendra peered over, seeming a bit.. Guilty, her eyes peering down. "I mean- I.. I DO wanna try it's just- I don't feel confident.." She drooped, though Kubos confronted her, settling a claw on her shoulder. "You don't need to feel confident, you can try! See, I can help you out!" He smiled, giving a nod. Lakendra gained some hope, obviously curious about her brothers' antics. "Where do we exactly- Oh!" Before a word could be uttered from Lakendra's mouth, her brother instantly gave her a dagger. "Here, we'll train you on how to use a dagger! Seems fair." Kubos introduced. Lakendra.. Didn't hold the dagger correctly, the brother looked.. Disappointed, though, this is just the start of their training arc!

Backstory: He and his family originally lived in Laternlea Port, where his family assisted in fishing among the ports, being a main source of income. However, one day, daring him and his sister to take a glide around Hewn City, were caught by their parents. Angered, took the 2 back home. However, something came along, weeks later their parents died of an unknown disease. The 2 distraught, worrying it's their fault, ended up running away, finding themselves in the Gladeveins, meeting a particular Guardian, who ended up adopting the 2 Nocturnes.
