Citrine

Shadow Dragons are a valued resource in the Tangle Woods, and any dragons which are capable of becoming one is considered an honor to their clan and is welcome anywhere under Shadow control. Their job is considered meaningful, as it involves weaving shadows together and tracking their path through the dark Tangled Woods.

The job is physically demanding, often involving dragons to work for days on end hiking and weaving the shadows into a form that would please their deity the most, but most dragons find the experience a reward in and off itself. Over the course of the years it has developed into an art form, and it's not unusual for a group of them to hold a contest to see who can weave the shadows in either the most efficient or the most visually pleasing manner.

They each bear the distinctive marks on their bodies, as it's impossible to get so close to the abyss without feeling it's touch. It's a mark of pride among them, but can also be a cause of sorrow as they remember those who did not survive their first wondering.
