Place yourself in an unsuspecting customer's view-- just an ordinary dragon who often visits the Algid Steppe Marketplace. To many, you're one of the "usuals": you know every dragon who works here. From Freyja and her teahouse to Cebrioon and his old, rickety shack full of scries, you've interacted with every single merchant and possibly every single consumer. Despite this, there's one shop you notice on your way to the marketplace.

A shed, maybe the size of a gas station, sits on the outskirts of Algid Steppe Marketplace. You pass this hut every day, and have even inspected it before, but there has never been anyone inside. You've always just assumed it was abandoned. Until one summer day, there's a dragon outside of the building.

A dull-blue Spiral, you note, is shouting into the crowd of dragons, advertising something you can't overhear. Curiosity takes over, and you wander over to the dragon. The Spiral accosts you with a wave, and you exchange greetings. With a smile, she asks you a question.

"Are you tired of the daily grind?"

A bit unnerved and quite confused by her subject, you stare with a puzzled expression. Silence ensues for a moment between you two, staring intently at each other, until the Spiral elaborates, shaking her talons. "I mean, do you dislike trying to, like, gain treasure every day?" She laughs out of apprehension and continues talking.

"A lot of people use the Fairgrounds to gain treasure, but I know a lot of them reaaallly hate doing it because it's so boring or repetitive!" She shakes her head. "So I'm starting a business to do those tedious tasks for you! With a little pay, of course."

She smiles slyly as you raise your eyebrow, noticing your interest. "I can grind a whole day's worth for only 100,000 treasure! Or 100 gems, if you have enough of those."

You rest your talon on your chin, taking the Spiral's words into account. Was this deal fair? You don't even remember how much treasure you can get from the Fairgrounds. This dragon could obviously be tricking you into handing her your precious treasure. You do hate grinding treasure, though...

Almost instantly, you pull out a large amount of coins and show them to the Spiral. "Alrighty!" She chirps, and takes the treasure from your talons. With wide, batty eyes, she stuffs the coins in a pocket and nods at you intently. "Thank you verrry much! I'll be sure to give you that 75 thousand something treasure in a jiffy!"

As the Spiral fidgets with her pockets, you contemplate your actions. Of course, the seller is always the one that profits, you note, but a certain thought still lingers in your mind: did you just get scammed? Making money is annoying, yes, but was it really worth the trouble of loosing this much for someone to do it for you?

The two of you share eye contact, and you examine the Spiral. She looks as if she's just gotten out of a mental hospital, with such wild eyes and rough scales. She's surely been through some things, you think.

"So, same place, tomorrow morning, 'kay?" You widen your eyes, feeling as if you've just exited some sort of trance. A bit lethargic, you nod.

"Good, good! I'll be off, then!" The Spiral and you nod, and she runs off in the other direction. You ponder for a moment, watching her scamper away into the snow. Who was that Spiral? Would she come back the next morning? Why was she in such a state? Countless questions plagued your mind, only leaving you more puzzled than when you first confronted her.

You shake your head, sighing. It's not like you gave her that much treasure, you think. You've still got a decent amount left in your vault anyway. You decide to forget about the meeting for the rest of the day.

The next morning, as you approach the aged shed, you notice the same dull-blue Spiral, her pockets full of treasure. She pulls the coins out and gingerly hand them to you. The two of you share glances for a moment. Studying the Spiral once more, you give a prudent nod to her as you place the treasure back in your purse.

She replies with a grin.
