THE CHARGE. Nerva is Candor's charge, perhaps a natural result of growing up alongside harpies. Despite a long friendship between one another, allowing Nerva to leave his flock required weeks of diplomatic effort between Candor and Nerva's clan. Eventually, an agreement was made: Nerva would be allowed to travel as long as another clan watched over him and Candor. Nerva rarely leaves his Guardian's back, though Candor hardly minds. It isn't an act of laziness so much as a tactical decision - Few would dare try to strike at a prince protected by such a beast. A pragmatic, down-to-earth sort, Nerva prefers to speak in short sentences and make his points as concise as possible. Though it seems like he and Candor hardly talk, they simply don't need to. Their friendship thrives in the mere act of existing together, as well as bonding through their wanderings. In addition, Nerva will hunt from Candor's back, often leaping off to grab smaller prey, or to grab fish from rivers in his talons. Nowadays, the two have settled in a clan with a long history of alliances between dragon and beastclan. In the melting pot of culture that is Notus Silver, Candor and Nerva help facilitate dragon-harpy relations. |

THE GLUTTON. Candor is strangely taken with the morose, ravenous thing that is Asra. It was Asra who enchanted her necklace, and she's been a repeat visitor to his shop ever since. The two share a deep passion for the history of Sornieth, and they both enjoy regaling each other with tales of their travels. Every time one returns from a long journey, the two will get together for tea, discussing current affairs and even starting fierce debates. Though she loathes to admit it, Candor's visits to the Tundra are partially out of pity; she intuited early on that he struggles with separation anxiety, and this, alongside his occasional stories of a late wife, have led her to keep coming back to his side, if only to give him a shoulder to cry on. No matter how many stories they exchange, something nags at the back of the Guardian's mind, and she can't tell if Asra has caught on to this motivation yet. |
