unlike viels i lowkey want a sandsurge so heres my excuse:

thought process:
hmm what pokemon could a sandsurge fit... they're like land sharks? the gible line are land sharks... i think i have a g1 that could make a good garchomp

was gonna go with one of my hibden g1s but after a quick search on the ah i am definitely vibing with you a lot more than the og plan


shark also feels really reminiscent of the beta garchomp line!




anyways lore stuff!
they're being added to the group of pokemon ancient fandragons alongside snom and trubbish and as such getting lore to go along with it

probably gonna be added to the boneyard burrow rather than glowshroom grove due to... burrows.
sandsurges do a lot of tunneling and excavating and stuff

unlike trubbish they do evolve, being found as a lil baby gible until they grow into a big strong garchomp



the majority of the boneyard burrows namesake was already fug out and in that condition when the first few dragons who would eventually grow into the clan first found it
some additions were made but not many, as no one in the clan had enough knowledge or the skills to make sure the new tunnels would be safe, and they didn't want to risk the safety of their clan by looking for someone who could

thats where garchomp comes in

yet another lost ancient found by one of the boneyard burrow natives, i wanna say laurel and/or decay?
bugsy and hawthorn got to have casp, and caspo by extension brough in trubbish. laurel is a lightning native so it makes sense as to why they'd be there, and decay would have gone along with them for xyr own reasons (those reasons are tbd)

hawthorn found caspo's egg while searching for growths for her garden, so i guess laurel and decay find garchomp (then gible) while looking for a certain ingredient that gives laurels drink an electric shock to them

and what do you know they find a lone little shark snuffling under the sand nearby
gible was likely abandoned by their parents for one reason or another (not sure the exact reason just yet, possibly something that'd make it a lot harder for them to be productive? dunno)


maybe they have some sort of 'defect' or mutation that makes it harder for them to move easily in sand, or claws too tough for the softer sandy earth of the lightning territory
