Linden

Linden looked over his shoulder. Burrowstone Reach wasn't too far away. He snapped back to attention when he bumped into Mangrove, not realizing she had stopped moving. "Watch it, fuzz for brains!" She snapped at him, in her usual grouchy attitude. He said nothing, but he glowered right back at her. "We're here." Linden looked around, what had she brought him to see? "Linden," he tilted his head. "aren't you tired of how cramped and hot the sleeping dens are?" "...Yeah?" He responded hesitantly. "Aren't you just SICK of the bugs that always find their way into the caves?" "Dear, Flamecaller are those are annoying!" He flicked one of his ears in annoyance in agreement. "Exactly..." The nocturne smirked, everything was going to plan.

"I've found a solution for your troubles." She moved towards a cave in the ground. She looked over at Linden and motioned with her tail for him to follow. Linden curiously followed her. "I've found this den, just for you." She looked over at him with her best friendly smiled. Linden looked unconvinced. "No more bugs to nestle in your pelt and no more cramped dens!" Linden seemed thoughtful, and then smiled a little. "Thanks, Mangrove!" The tundra dragon seemed to beam. "You know, you'd be the last dragon I'd expect to be this thoughtful." He said, settling into the den in a laying down position.

It probably wasn't meant to be an insult, but Mangrove frowned a little. Linden rested his head on paws, looking up at her. "But what about everyone else? Won't they go looking for me or something? Especially my brothers..." The tundra dragon looked sad, especially at the thought of his brothers. "Oh don't worry," she patted his warm, furry head. "I've got it all taken care of..." With that, the nocturne strutted out of the cave. "Goodbye, Mangrove!" He shouted after her as she left. She flicked her tail in acknowledgement before running back to BurrowStone Reach, sniggering to herself. He was none the wiser about the true reason she had found a den for him.
