Having arrived to the Rotmarrow Clan at a young age, Matteo has grown close to many of the other working dragons, and is one of few who can get Jansen to leave his section of the Lair and socialize. Matteo doesn't help his coworkers much, as he's well aware that he's too large to give any effective assistance in most cases, but he enjoys lending moral support and is often found with other dragons taking a break from their job and snuggling into his mane while ranting to him.

Matteo is a skilled stonecarver, and while he's decorated the walls of his part of the Lair with many carvings, he prefers making sculptures and figurines (though admittedly, what Matteo considers a figurine is often large enough to count as a sculpture to other breeds). Matteo tends to leave his tools out and about, sometimes even in common areas, and while he's overall an extremely kind and caring dragon, not even Viktor wants to find out what Matteo is like when he's angry and his tools are always returned to him. His stone form is pure opal.
