Esmeralda

Esmeralda was always working hard to keep her and Daedalus fed. When she wasn't weaving, she was dancing and practicing for the day that she'd finally be able to dance in front of others. Although the grand balls that Mistress Erina held were open to all in the Auraetum, Ezzie was always too busy to go... until one night.

The ball was just as magnificent as she'd imagined, as was the palace. Her dancing captivated the eyes of many, but someone had caught Esmeralda's eye as well. By the wall, there stood a beautiful young man. Although she was certain that he was a noble of some sort, her braver side couldn't help but ask him to dance. She was shocked when he accepted. Time seemed to stop for them when they took the floor, but the moment of beautiful dancing in perfect unison came to a close in the end. She let go and faded back into the crowd as she let her once in a lifetime encounter slip away.

... how was she supposed to know he was the prince?! She never kept up with the paper, and now she was in the paper for dancing with the prince? That someone so above her status would accept the invitation from her was shocking enough! She admitted that her chances of meeting him again were nil.
