Aoulie is known as the Parasite by the living due to his ability to cling on to dragons' lives and slowly drain them of their emotions. He is solely responsible for wiping out an entire clan after they had ventured into the forest without one of the Mages.

He has attached himself to Norven and Sulwen, slowly taunting Norven and terrorizing Sulwen. He has no use of draining them, so he merely does it out of enjoyment. He tries to find every one of Norven's weak points to take him down with, but has only found one: Sulwen.

Aoulie does not care for the seal, focusing all of his attention of the pair and making their lives a living nightmare.

Since being moved to the Celestial Plains, Aoulie has calmed down. He no longer torments Norven and Sulwen and has allowed himself to be reformed. His memories are coming back to him and so is his original form.

Aoulie is now the second reformed Spirit. His original form has been restored and so have his memories. He was a mage and worked alongside Norven and Frigid during the Great Wisps War. He was slained by Nightengale and became a Spirit to aid her in breaking free from the forest as the Spirits believed only once living souls could remove the barrier. He believed that Norven was the reason why he was killed, but it was actually Frigid who led Nightengale to him.
