i. once upon a time, a flower… ➔ before petals reached the sky
• Maybe it was true that she was ungrateful, yet she didn’t feel that anyone here was worthy of saying these words to her. “You cannot create anything of value from the mud. I won’t tell you to keep up the lake if you don’t want to, however it is the only thing that you can call yours. Even if you abandon it, the universe doesn’t owe you another gift… you might never find anything else.” She didn’t know what to respond.
• Still her heart layed in the mud, the lakebed brought confort. As she looked up, the lake’s surface was beautiful but her heart couldn’t take the waves. The dirt felt alive. As if the universe understood her plea, life grew out of the mud, flowers so ambitious that they reached beyond the waters. Their many roots stopped the heavy currents. The flowers understood her. • Why did everyone believed it was her fault? Her entire world might as well had perished if these flowers came to disappear. Cursed or not, these flowers were a miracle to her, she would not let them go so easily. Her rain got heavier. “Sorry… I know the rain disturbs you too.” ➔ after petals covered the lakebed
• They needed more water, to protect themselves. The new seasons were starting to be rude to them. The lake calmed down, but his voice still echoed on, “All the seas of all these worlds wouldn’t satiate your selfishness. They’ll die with you too.” A tight smile faded along the memory. He didn’t understand. The goals of his heart were so similar to hers, yet he refused to understand.
• “Don’t worry, if he comes back, I’ll protect you all.” She said as her gaze fixed the flowers. All these waves started to disturb the surface of the lake, she was worried for them. After all, flowers don’t come back from these things either, they’d die. The mud would take them back, and miracles didn’t happen twice. One life is all they had. • She knew from now on, she shouldn’t visit them as often anymore. After all, he wouldn’t appear if she wasn’t there to gaze at the reflection. She wasn’t moving on, her heart still loved the flowers so she hoped it wouldn’t change anything. A forever which requires her heart to change isn’t a forever at all. That’s not what she wants. Change kills a part of the soul, and from the mud they once came, they would never bloom the same way again. |
