Not all stories start as happy as they end, and not every story has a happy ending. The triplets had, for lack of better words, been abandoned by their parents when they were young. Sol had taken up the role of acting parent, keeping them together, and safe since they were young. Floren, while reluctant to do so, was most efficient in tracking, and keeping watch. Aqua, with her own fears and desire for comfort always seemed to find both the safest, and most comfortable areas for them to call their home on their travels, as well as areas with an abundance of food. The three of them did not often stick around in one place too long.

Growing up, all they had were each other. They would learn to rely on their siblings, if they could not do it, one of the others could. They didn't envy each other, for one may have been better at one thing than the other, because it was just how they were. Everyone had their role in their family, and who to do a job best, than the one that is the best at it.

They didn't ever do more than they needed to. They did what they had to to survive and nothing else. They did not waste excess from their hunts, using everything they could from the fish they gathered, and if anything was unused, was left for some other creatures, if not other dragons to have for themselves. The fish left uneaten, would be either returned, or given as an offering to whomever had housed them for their stay. It was easy to say that in these acts they had made lots of friends, and in their later years, stories of them would spread, and some old faces would find them once more.

They would eventually find a place to settle, and the three of them would do their best to make it home. Floren had taken a note in the recesses of his memory of every place they had settled. He knew it would take him little time to make a few trips every week or so to go back and fetch a few things as mementos, and he would. Each of the fish that his sister dearly loved the taste of, he would catch and bring back so they would easily have a supply for later. He'd gather a few of the soft leaves his brother seemed to enjoy laying on in their times of rest, all to bring back to their cozy home. Memories from all over, and each each of his venturing missions, more and more seemed to perk up and recognize the small family that once passed through. Some however would grow curious and follow Floren back to his little home.

Some smaller creatures would take note, and offer assistance in any way they could just in the promise to have a place for them to call a more permanent home. Of course, Floren would say yes to anyone that asked him, but he let those matters fall upon Sol.

____She always had her own way of doing things. While she often went on alone away from her older brothers, she was never too far, just in case she needed help. Floren might have been the better one at tracking and noticing the fish and other sea life they wanted to call dinner, but Aqua was far better and hunting them. Her strength was not in her brothers, but in how she knew what, and how to lean on their skills effectively. She could make a good thing great, depending on what was needed.

Not often the first to speak, but usually the first either Sol or Floren would ask for help. It wasn't often that she was requested, and would more than likely be her offering her aid. She had been born with the gift of water, and on occasion a heart as cold as ice. She kept, and continues to keep a lot of her issues to herself, and only ever asks when she knows she cannot do it alone. She may be the best at fetching oysters and clams and the like, but sometimes even she needs help opening their shells.

Aqua never really cared about where the three of them came from. She didn't want to know, nor cared to know if they were truly related or just happened to be born the same day. It doesn't matter to her. She knows what she feels in her heart, and no matter what, the other two are her family for life.

At least until Sol takes another lobster from her, then maybe she might try to kill him again.

. . . metaphorically.

____It was always about protecting his family. It didn't matter if they shared blood, it didn't even matter if they came from the same nest. it didn't matter if they looked the same, or were different. They were family for the experiences they shared and how they needed each other. Sol never forgot anyone that helped him and his siblings and as far as he was concerned, every helping hand, every wing that sheltered them from the weather was family too. They might not have known who their parents were exactly, but Sol knew. Ibex & Iris were their parents. Like his siblings, it didn't matter if they did, or didn't share blood, or did, or didn't look the same. Even if their time with them was short in the moments they stayed with them, Sol never forgot what they did.

Sol became strong because he had to. He never wanted to fight and still doesn't. He became strong to protect Aqua and Floren when needed, and thankfully the occasions were rare. They might have seen him as an older brother, but all he wanted was to make sure none of them got hurt.

When they originally settled in their new home, even if Sol didn't say it, he was the first to consider and plan who to invite to their home. Sol had carefully picked his family, and he would use Floren's speed to spread the message. Just as it was important for his siblings to be with them, so was all of their new relatives, and most of all, the parents that were there for them.
