Austin is an overly friendly dragon without many friends. His personality tends to annoy other dragons and drive them away. He is excitable, kind, and talks as much as he possibly can. He finds lots of ways to see the good in the world, despite others pointing out the bad. He has a bit of depression that he almost never shows, especially to his few friends, who he doesn't want to lose. He was sold because he was seen as 'weak' by his parents when he broke down for the first time in front of them. He also has ADHD and his brain is constantly going 100 miles per hour.
When he broke down from his depression for only the third time at 1 month old, the only dragon with him was Cynder. Unlike what he thought would happen, Cynder stayed with him, comforting him. She made sure to take care of him, got them snacks, wrapped them together in a blanket, and they watched his favorite movie together. Austin asked her to marry him just as the movie ended, and she accepted without hesitation. He is a good father to every litter of dragonets they have, taking care of them and visiting them wherever they end up every chance he gets.
When he found but a few common interests between him and his handler, Austin practically exploded with happiness. He found lots of ways for them to share those interests and lots of ways for them to get along. Austin is good friends with his handler and has a strong bond with her.
