Booflue

The air reeked of explosives and heavy machinery.

Booflue took a sharp breath and slowly moved her cold gaze across the line of dragons standing before her. Many of them were much larger than her. They could probably tear her into pieces without much effort. She would have to slit their throats if they tried, even if she understood the desperation she could see in their faces. There is no escape, no tomorrow here. The only light at the end of the tunnel once you enter the mine is death. Everyone knew.

“Hello. I am Booflue of Lightbearer, your mentor for the following days. Today, you begin your training as an upcoming Triwing miner at Hopefind mine. You will learn to collect the correct materials, fend of monsters and to act correctly in case of emergency. If anyone has a change of heart,this is your last chance to speak up. You will be sent to the front line at Emberglow Hearth.” She rasped, breaking the silence. No reply. She wasn’t surprised- this was a choice of death rather than a choice at all. “Good. Let’s begin then.” She finished and started leading the way towards a training field.
