She stared at the queen in confusion. What does she mean? "Forgive me my queen, but what are you talking about?" Now the Queen too looked at her as if she was some sort of monster waiting to lash out. "You know what you did." "I do not know what you speak of, Your majesty." The silence held for a little more then Void would have liked until the Queen finally spoke. "You know we do not tolerate such a thing in this kingdom. It is against our understanding of primal magic and much too dangerous" Void looked up at the queen with a horrified expression. "My Queen, I would never dabble in witchcraft! It is against my purpose and laws!" The queens eyes bore down what felt like through her skull. She took a bag from the small table next to the throne. She carefully lifted the item out and held it out for Void to see. It was a small pouch of herbs, flowers, seeds and other spell ridden things. "This was found on the windowsill of your house. You know what happens to people who practice witchcraft Void, They get banished from the kingdom." "Your Majesty! You already know I am loyal to you and would never! Someone must have set it up! Someone has framed me! Please don't do this to me Queen Atlas, I'm begging you it wasn't me!" Void's wings started to tremble. "I'm sorry Void, but as long as there is no evidence pointing to another dragon, you will be banished." Queen Atlas looked down at her hands and away from Void. Void looked up to see sadness fill her face for a second and a single tear slide down her face then flicker away into her queenly face. "Come with me Void, It doesn't have to be public." They walk towards the forest that surrounded one half of the town, tears slid down Voids face with a blank stare. Not a word was spoken between them as they walked, but Voids mind was broken. What have I done to deserve this punishment? Who would have framed me? Why wouldn't the Queen believe her? What what I done? Suddenly, Queen Atlas spoke. "I'm sorry Void, I don't know if it was you or not but I wish I didn't have to banish you. You were my best warrior. I'm sorry but you are banished." A single tear fell down her face and she banished Void. "Farewell Atlas" was the last thing Void said before she trekked into the forest, not looking back.  |
