Many outsiders to the plaguelands hold a false belief that the ground is made of flesh- squishy perhaps, or dried by the hazy sunlight that bakes the muggy humidity out of somewhere. Alas, a world made of both carnivores and hardship would never be that easy to feed off of. The barren, hard-packed earth leaves little for the imagination to work with, and little for plants to grow with. Instead- the ecosystem is filled from the outside.

Every large creature in the Scarred Wasteland is a carnivore, relying on their own claws and fangs to fulfill their needs. But, with that dry scraping earth, even the claws of dragons will blunt into nothing but liabilities. In much the same way, the longer a dragon stays in one place, the blunter they become to their surroundings. To become stuck in one's ways, claws sliding into the same holes from the same footprints over and over, is a sure way for drakes to leave themselves behind as the world around them grows thorny and sharper.

This particular wanderer found herself plucking those stuck dragons from the ground, turning them towards fresh new paths. If you must be worn- at least be worn with experience, instead of boredom.
