Hades

local idiot gets infected by lycanthropy, more at 5

Hades is a student of the Deathfell College. He was sent there a while ago by his father "on church business" and has been there ever since. Noxious hasn't really kept in contact with him and Hades himself has kind of hopped off of Revedaen Church train and fully onto the Deathfell College/Order of The Oblivionbane train, completely and utterly believing in their cause after hearing a few talks from the Headmaster, Yasuo.

Hades by all accounts is now definitely a heretic and would be hunted down by the inquisitors of the Church if he... mattered more? Hades is just one of Noxious' many children and he didn't really know anything that important anyways. If he was in Hollowwell he'd probably be brought in but since he's off in the Scarred Wasteland, it doesn't really matter that much.

Hades, at the College, has taken in interest in classes specifically with Professor Halfmoon, as the supernatural has definitely appealed to him a lot more than any of the more scientific routes. That and Professor Halfmoon just has some much more charisma and a way to make you want to listen to her. The other professors bore Hades to death.

As a proud student of the Deathfell College, Hades did some fieldwork at some point. Prior to this, he was a sheltered Ice dragon with little knowledge of The Scarred Wasteland and how harsh it can be. He left this experience having contracted lycanthropy. Probably in a stupid, easily avoidable way. Oh well.

(I call him stupid and idiotic in an affectionate way, he's not that dumb. He is pretty clever, actually.)

Okay, so, the way Hades contracted lycanthropy is because, as a dragon born and raised in the Shallowlight Region, he'd heard tell of the strange Gods that seemed to only exist there. Included among that pantheon was a God of Life. So, Hades decided that maybe asking this God of Life to either give Hades immortality or teach him the secret of it could be a good idea.

Hades spent all of his free time researching methods of contact with the Shallowlight Region Gods and eventually was able to devise a ritual to summon the God of Life. He went to the Shallowlight Region, avoiding his father and the Church for obvious reasons, and performed the ritual and successfully summoned the God of Life, Gaius. He then proceeded to directly ask Gaius for immortality and if that was a thing he could give to the entire populace of Sornieth.

Gaius was amused by the request and gave Hades his blessing, to which he said "This might give you immortality but my blessing is rather unpredicatiable and rather wild in nature. I hope you enjoy the gift in which you are given." Gaius then left.

Hades soon learned that whatever Gaius blessing did had at the very least given him lycanthropy. He might be immortal, he might not, he's not particularly willing to test it out fully. He's still working on managing the whole lycanthropy thing at the very least and he's pretty sure he just wasted his time and got cursed as a result. At the very least, Hades isn't the most unhappy. He did learn things that could be useful in the process, after all.
