TUULIKKI
she/her  tuulikki may be in training with her slink, ninlil, but that won't stop her from charging in headfirst to any challenge that awaits her! she rushes in to help if she possibly can, with ninlil tagging behind. she also helps with training hatchlings and the chosen exalted in the clan. with her upbringing of defending the bamboo falls from encroaching beastclans, she was ready to help when kapheira blew in, seeing that kapheira was sorely underleveled for her attackers. the two struck up a deep bond as they explored the land, searching for the rumored whistling hollow that had attracted the imperial to the spot in the first place. how had tuulikki not seen it before? nothing made sense near that spot in the singer's brook. she supposed she took it for granted, her mind tucking the knowledge away in the most acceptable way. as a windsong this news that she had just accepted was... troubling at first. was her mind not supposed to be springy enough to accept the new? |
"calm, child," came the old, wise spiral from her spot inside the hollow. "some truths are ineffable. they're beyond our understanding, and no one, save maybe the gods, are infallible."
"but i'm a windsong!" cried tuulikki, startling ninlil into hiding in tuulikki's curled tail. "i'm supposed to be one of the best. didn't the windsinger bless me from birth? how can your truths be right if these are as well?" the old seer nodded their head quietly. the seconds of silence stretched so long that tuulikki nearly wanted to tie herself into knots as she did when she was a child.
"you've answered your own question with your experiences," ivory said calmly. "truths that may seem incongruous find their places in reality, and sometimes change to fit better."
"truths... change...." tuulikki repeated. it was almost a question.
"truths change." ivory turned from tuulikki, their scaled back facing her now. tuulikki took a moment to gather herself before leaving, ninlil tagging along behind her.
"but i'm a windsong!" cried tuulikki, startling ninlil into hiding in tuulikki's curled tail.
