On entering Zarya's home, one might notice a certain smell hanging in the air: death, decay, and preservatives. One would also find the place stuffed to the rafters with corpses of all kinds and in all sorts of conditions: scraps of skeletons, taxidermy so lifelike it might be alive, and everything in between.

Zarya loves studying bodies -- dragon, beastclan, or animal; she's not picky -- especially when they no longer function. She greatly enjoys dissection. Though she doesn't exhibit violence towards living creatures, at least not overtly, she's not too picky about where her specimens come from ...

This, her sense of morbid humor, and the scent of blood and death that hangs around her tend to cause other dragons to avoid her company. In particular, Zarya has a long-running feud with Acrux over her desire to dissect an imperial, something he considers utter sacrilege. It didn't help that she briefly allied herself with Barholme in seeking Elain's death -- she wanted to take apart a shape-shifter. Fortunately for Elain, that attempt failed, and Zarya faded back into the shadows of clan politics, where no one cares to look.
