Faredun

Faredun is extremely proud of his butterfly and moth collection. Not a collection of dead ones, pinned to a piece of cardboard and put in a frame, no! A collection of live ones, nurtured from caterpillar to flying critter, all in Faredun’s garden. He has been working on this not so little butterfly sanctuary for some time now. It took a lot of time and effort, but it’s all worth it in the end. As most things usually are.

Right now, Faredun is taking care of a collection of butterflies with wings as clear as grass. Their beautiful caterpillars fed on Faredun’s garden plants earlier this year, their stunning cocoons hanged in a chrysalis house that Faredun has built himself. And not, they’re fully gestated and fluttering around, their wings catching the light and shimmering in a rainbow of colors. Faredun takes care of the fluttering friends for the entire day, before going to sleep when the sun has set, with a happy feeling in his heart.

But one day, he wakes up and immediately feels like something is wrong. Faredun skips his breakfast, skips his entire morning ritual, and walks into his butterfly garden… Only to see it completely destroyed. His plants trampled, his little buildings torn apart… And his butterflies dead on the ground, their wings ripped from their bodies by force. Faredun cries. He kneels down and cradles their tiny forms. Why? Who would do something like this? Faredun sits alone for a long, long time before he starts cleaning. He has to salvage whatever is left to see if he can rebuild. But he won’t rebuild until he knows who did this. Faredun will find the one responsible for this. And he will exact his revenge.

He will destroy everything that they hold dear, they have no idea what’s coming for them.
