HovGUqf.png once, in the deep vastness of space, existed a planet of nature. rivers ran free and clear, waters as blue as the day and deep as the night, greenery spreading everywhere in a positive infection of life. flowers bloomed, birds chirped, and the wind whistled as it rushed through the vegetation. it was untouched, unblemished, untainted unlike so many others which had been destroyed by their own inhabitants’ greed and ambition, ignorance and over-reliance on the worlds they lived on. and at the core of it all, the umbra stone, the one who birthed everything on the planet, and on which everything that has passed will return to, to be recycled and reborn in a different way. everything was connected in one circle, one dance of harmony, and it seemed like it would remain that way for all eternity.

alas, we know such beautiful things do not last forever.

when the sun of the solar system exploded in a brilliant blast of fire and light, a grand death, the planet had to take the full brunt of its blazing wrath. the once-tall trees were obliterated, until not even the ashes of the roots remained. the wide and blue rivers were vaporised, leaving deep gouges on the surface where they used to be. the ground was ravaged, turned into black ashes that brought the land past recovering. at the end of it all, the natural beauty of the world was gone, as if it had never been. the umbra stone was blown off its resting place, hurtled into space, forced to leave the earth it had given life. for an untold amount of time, the brown, glassy stone floated through the deepness of outer space, its future unsure.

until one day…

the lonely stone fell towards a new planet. one that was populated with life. it wasn’t as beautiful as its former home, but it had been guided there for a reason. it lay in the soil of the earth flight domain, perhaps to be picked up by a worthy inhabitant of the world. that’s where trinket came in. a collector of, well, trinkets, he was a traveller. a traveller who had made his way across sornieth in search of various treasures from different clans and lands where cultures could differ like that of day and night. he came across a curiously buried gem in the ground, and thinking of it as a new addition to his collection, picked it up and flipped it between his claws.

all at once, the memories of the world’s past rushed into his mind like the breaking of a dam. the natural light, the wildlife, the ever-flowing waters…remnants of a past that remained only in the stone, and in trinket’s head. at once, he knew this stone was a precious one, a vowed to keep it safe for as long as he could. such a valuable item will one day find its place amongst the stars once more, hopefully as a new world. until then, it gifted the young dragon some of its various gifts, like the ability to grow life, to harmonise the living creatures of their various habitats. over time, trinket began bonding ever closer with the stone, its extensions wrapping around him in the form of vines, leaves, and petals that swirled around him. his eyes became the resting place of the stone, each one representing half of the natural artifact. one could see him almost as a physical reincarnation of the old planet in his draconic form; a sight to behold.

though the umbra stone had endured the life and death of its homeworld, it had finally found peace and residence in a soul of purity and love, hoping to bring the lands of sornieth a better future, one seed at a time.
