unlike suigetsu and boreas, aquila is unaware of his status as a manifestation. he knows there is a reason his blade became something more, but he is unsure of what that reason is. in truth, aquila was forged by the prince of the south, every goal and desire being hammered directly from his soul to the metal forming a shape below. when the man finally died, the blade became something more, the manifestation of the will to protect. without an idea of what to do, aquila chose to wander, offering his skillset to those in need. conversation with him is pleasant, though oft confusing, as he comes off rather charming entirely by accident; but aquila is always willing to partake in conversation, should one have the time to spare.

a clash of steel and sparks, adrenaline singing sweet motivation, like the howls of a thousand hunt-driven wolves—hands whirling through the air with bated breath and trembling trepidation ... this was aquila's first memory.

the will of that which forged him awakened the gem embedded into his hilt, gathering the energy born from conquest and desire as his elegant length was masterfully deployed.

when those hands dropped him for a final time, everything holding his flickering consciousness grasped the tangled dregs of his forger's escaping soul, weaving them together with the energy that had been accumulated.

where the blade once rest now stood a magnificent dragon.

aquila manifested with the same elegance his forger had once wielded him with, landing upon blood-soaked grasses with outstretched wings and purpose in his eyes.

the hilt where he used to dwell now hangs at his hip, a heavy reminder of his time spent as an extension of his creator's will.

always empty, always puzzling ...
