Biography

Quote:
Fascinating. Tell me more- not.
Theme Song: Hiro Hamada- Henry Jackman
Nature isn’t always gentle. Sometimes, it has a sharp side to it. Thorn embodies that sharper side.
Sarcastic and grouchy, Thorn likes to procrastinate. He rarely shows up for patrol and prefers to play card or gambling games with his small circle of friends. Thorn also has a fiery side, and is overprotective of the things he loves. Including his brother, Haven (@woodstock02). While his brother can’t take anything seriously, Thorn does. Even though he’s the younger sibling, Thorn has taken it upon himself to see that his brother stays out of trouble and keeps all four of his limbs. It can be a bit of a challenging task.
Thorn was born into a small village deep within the Gladeveins. His mother was rarely present and did not play a very active role in raising him. Instead, Thorn and his brother, Haven, took to raising themselves.
Haven, having been born to an earlier clutch, already knew a bit about the area. He knew a little bit about what kind of plants were safe to eat and which mushrooms gave you “a very bad bellyache.” Thorn, however, soon proved that he was decent at insect catching.
The two Skydancers also received small treats from an old Imperial in the village. She never took upon a motherly role to them, but if you asked any one of the brothers about her, they will still speak fondly of her- as if she was some sort of family friend.
As soon as Thorn fledged, the brothers decided to try their luck elsewhere. They became travelers, wandering from the Behemoth to Dragonhome and back again in search of something for them to do with themselves. But while Haven seemed content with this life, Thorn wanted to settle down somewhere. He wanted to find a clan to stay in.
When the duo stopped in the Driftwood Drag, they accidentally wandered into the territory that Blackfeather had claimed for her. Narjie found them sleeping.
Two panicked Skydancers facing a Guardian is certainly a recipe for disaster.
Haven and Thorn freaked out and climbed into the trees on impulse. It took Narjie over an hour to get them down, and another fifteen minutes before they would even speak to her. Narjie decided to take them to Blackfeather, even though they were young and couldn’t do much damage.
Blackfeather allowed them to stay and rest for a few days before they left again. Both brothers were impressed by what the Fae had done so far. Haven, however, was ready to leave. He had “places to be and dragons to see.” Thorn wanted to stay behind, however, because he decided that the laid-back, peaceful clan was for him.
Haven reluctantly left the lair solo, but even now, he often drops by for a visit. Thorn took up a job in the Guard and found his place in his new clan. He became friends with the Skydancers Shadowforge and Hollowflame, and the three of them like to play games together. Most of the time, they gamble. Treasure changes hands frequently, even in Plague, when it seems like there’s simply not enough time for leisure.
Shadowforge and Thorn, despite the difference in their natures, became friends quickly after Thorn’s arrival. Thorn frequently accompanied Shadowforge on jobs, and Shadowforge sometimes tagged along for patrols. Soon though, they realized that both had romantic affections for each other. They currently are courting each other, taking it slow.
CURRENTLY:
With Narjie gone, Thorn can’t help but worry about what awaits him here in the Wasteland. As a Nature dragon, he can’t help but feel out of place and unwanted. Sometimes he wonders about splitting off from his clan and meeting up again with his brother until things calm down again. The only thing keeping him here is Shadowforge. But with Kurin missing and possibly heating an already-boiling pot, Thorn can’t help but wonder if it’s time to try his fortune elsewhere.
