Biography
Nothing ever compared to the feeling of waking up to the buzzing of bees. The nest crinkled as Akantha stirred, a smile softly crossing her lips.
Another beautiful day she thought, rolling over to glance out the window
Sun glistened through the panes, dancing across the soil that made up the floor of the farmhouse bedroom. It was a humble dwelling - only two rooms - giving just enough space for the two dragons to nest and store their belongings.
-
The house sat upon a large flower farm, on the outskirts of a new clan. Neither of it's residents liked to spend too much time around crowds, but the marketplace nearby was a good place to sell their harvests so they didn't mind the proximity of the growing clan.
They'd been living on the farm for years now, just the two of them. Ever since they met, Alix and Akantha had talked about working off the land. They soon realized that Alix's passion for flowers and Akantha's love of bees would pair perfectly. From then on, it was just the two of them facing the world. Or, more accurately, searching for the perfect place to hide from most of it.
It had taken them a long search, but when they finally found a plot of land in the middle of nowhere, wildflowers popping out of the ground and hives perched in the trees, they knew they had found their home.
During their travels, Alix had gathered flower seeds in piles. The farm's proximity to the Southbeam River made it easy to keep the newly planted buds well watered. The whole of their fields were bursting with colorful blooms in a matter of a few seasons. Though, as Alix will be the first to insist, the blossoming success was not his alone.
Akantha had spared no time getting acquainted with the local bees, providing them everything they could possibly need to multiply and thrive.
The flowers fed the bees, the bees pollinated the flowers, and Akantha and Alix cared for each other.

Eyes darting over the small nestroom, the pearlcatcher smiled and turned to her mate. She ducked her head down to be level with his. 'Alix,' she breathed, 'my love, the sun has welcomed us to a new day.'
The spiral slowly blinked his large green eyes, face breaking in joy upon seeing Akantha. 'My humblebee. The sun holds but a shuddering candleflame to your radiant beauty.'
Dodging a swat, Alix rolled out of the nest and grinned. 'Come, we need to eat before work begins.'
