Apis the melittologist seems to glimmer as he passes by, nose in a book. Many who have wandered the Archive's vast halls have seen him looking perfectly pristine, a picture of elegance and regality. But his colleagues have a much more personal view into his research, and they know he tends to get himself drenched in honey or covered in pollen. To the public, Apis is like a marble statue, meant to be admired but not disturbed, but in reality, he's a soft-spoken man with an unmatched love for Terel's creatures. Duchess the capricat is but one example. She lives the most luxurious life possible at the Archive, being fed little bits of honeycomb and the finest smoked turkey Apis can afford. Her polished little hooves have often left trails of ink over his paperwork, and yet he can never really be mad at her. Duchess often trails along beside him as he walks through the Archive, adding to his regal air.
