Lazuli

Backstory : In her youth, she joined the shadow flight's military as a combat medic. While she wasn't as strong as a guardian or an imperial, she was quick and agile, and could blend in very well with the stormy skies. In air, there were few dragons that could touch her physically, and even with magic she was difficult to hit. She did best during night battles, she actually was nocturnal for a few years of her life. During the first year of her time with the military, she crashed into A Dusk Furian when dodging some elemental magic from another flight. Lazuli gathered herself quickly, but the Furian was knocked unconcious. She flew swiftly to grab him before running to a courier, begging them to take the Furian back to base and to bring them to her office. The courier did so, and when the fight was over she quickly returned to her office. She named the Furian Jay, after the stubborness of a Blue Jay and his refusal to give up. When Jay was healed, he had a strange attachment not seen in Furians, Jay trusted Lazuli and followed her everywhere. He would transport medicinal supplies, help Lazuli fly on moonless nights with his calls, and would defend her against other dragons. After 15 years of serving, Lazuli and Jay had gathered many medals of honor, but she was starting to have a problem, a problem she was scared to share. She had developed arthritis, her joints were inflamed and degrading, and on some days she would be in so much pain that she wouldn't be able to rise from bed. She was terrified to tell anyone, but then she met her best friend, Rojo. Lazuli was called to heal him after accidently being shot at archery practice. He was very charming despite the fact there was a whole arrow stuck in his wing. Rojo was very lonely in his barracks, so he hung out with Lazuli often. After a year of being friends, Lazuli caved and told Rojo about her arthritis and how hard it was to stay in the military. Rojo suggested she retire, and she took his advice. Lazuli was honorably discharged with Jay, a portrait of them being hung up in the medbay. She was able to buy an old beastclan shack that was by the seashore, and Rojo came by often to take care of her. Eventually their friendship evolved into more of a romance, and several years later they were happily married. She now writes novels about her stories in service, but furthermore is a professor in familiar care. She most commonly helps trains vets with of course Jay, there to be a wonderful assistant in her teachings.
