Wangle runs the section of the library where all the older, more delicate books are kept. Not that he really wants to. But it's an easy job, since not many dragons even ask about the restricted section, let alone come in looking for something to read. A lot of the books aren't even supposed to leave the library, so he doesn't have much reshelving to do, either. All he has to do is spend his day entertaining himself, occasionally keeping an eye on a patron Ruby's pointed toward the older books. And Ruby's got a pretty good judge of character.

It wasn't like he went out of his way to ask for this position; he hadn't been looking to help out with the library, anyway. When he'd gone out to face the trials of the Scarred Wasteland, to prove his might and return victorious, he'd left a pretty normal clan, all things considered. He came back to find the group curating a collection of books, and his mother gave him both his name and a job offer (Phantom isn't allowed to name the hatchlings anymore). Watching over a bunch of old books had sounded unbelievably easy, so of course he'd agree. It was that or go out full-time with his father to look for food; and he'd just spent his time away from the clan doing just that on his own.

Some of the other members of the clan might feel like he was just given his role at the library--and, sure, it's a role that comes with a bit more prestige than running the hatchlings' section or sorting through a bunch of silly poetry books. But he earned his place here, no matter what anyone says. He faced his trials, the same as anyone else. It's just that his accomplishments get more recognition when his parents run the library.
