Biography
Spud waddled up to Bardeluné after they finished their song, looking very concerned. They didn't seem to notice.
"Well? How did we do?" Barde asked while leaning closer to the little Snapper. His grin stretched across his face while Luné examined his nails, only pretending he wasn't just as excited to hear how much their audience loved their performance.
Their enthusiasm made Spud pause. How well were they going to handle what Spud had to say?
"Well..." Spud started to say.
"You don't need to say anything," Luné said, still pretending to examine his claws. "We already know how wonderful our performance was."
"Hey, let 'em finish," Barde bumped his head against Luné's, then turned back to Spud. "Sorry, go ahead."
"Spud um... Spud doesn't think that was a very good song."
Bardeluné froze and excused themselves for a moment before turning away from Spud.
"I didn't sing any wrong notes, did I?" Barde whispered.
"No, of course not," Luné replied just as quietly. "You were beautiful as always, and I didn't hear anything off during my parts. Unless I breathed too loudly, perhaps?"
Bardeluné were formerly two separate dragons, a Wildclaw known as Barde and a Skydancer called Luné (loo-nay). They met deep within the Tangled Wood, when Barde overheard someone singing and fell in love with their voice. Following the sound, he found Luné dancing around a small clearing as if in a trance. Barde even knew the song, and sang along until the final chords. Luné woke up when they finished, and the two had been inseparable ever since, bonding over their love of music and the macabre.
When Aberrations resurfaced, Luné realized they could make their attachment more literal, and Barde agreed to journeying to the Wyrmwound. Diving into the Wyrmwound to become an Aberration was risky; their bodies could have rejected each other, or they simply could have succumbed the diseases festering within. Fortunately, they survived, and have been journeying around the world together ever since, singing to anyone who will listen and to each other.
As an Aberration, both Barde and Luné kept some of their traits from their previous forms. Barde still has the three horns of a Wildclaw and his pale coloration, while Luné kept his gem, antennae, and black feathers. They can each control the limbs on their side of the body, but Luné will often let Barde control the whole body for walking while he controls their flying.
