As spring's awakening and the first blooms break,
Another sort of creature blossom, magical and rare,
There comes the dragon with a mischievous streak,
Whose antics are beyond compare.

With wings as green as an emeralds gleams,
Peeping through the snow, eyes that sparkle anew,
This dragon roams the seas of endless dreams,
Leaving a trail of pranks and laughter long overdue.

It swoops and glides with graceful guise,
Though a master of the skies it seems,
Don't be fooled for behind this majesty lies,
The king of all April fools' schemes.

It plays tricks on an unsuspecting soul,
With a sly wink and mischievous grin,
baffled and bewildered it takes it's tole,
As they fall for its pranks again and again.

It's egg must have cracked that very first April,
Such beginnings tracked by speculation,
That we know not we should be grateful,
For this dragon is no mere fabrication.

That you'll lament the happy month of April,
For the April fools' dragon is on the prowl,
With its clever tricks an ever playful staple,
It'll leave you laughing, though feeling quite foul.

Friends fear not, for this dragon means no harm,
Such pranks are merely your lot, even with a heart of gold,
But as surely it tells old jokes, or unravels all your yarn,
It disappears with winters cold as the month May grows bold.

So let us raise our glasses to this dragon,
Whose presence brings joy and delight,
For in a world filled with chaos and sorrow,
It reminds us to laugh and enjoy life's flight.
