Lampri

from Lampyridae, the scientific term for the firefly family

Lampri, the Yearning Glow-Drake. He is the result of an effort by mad alchemists to create a dragon that can outshine any other, even the Lightweaver. As he wasn't as bright as they'd hoped, the mad alchemists sold him to the Black Market, where he was passed between slavery and performance shops until eventually ending up at an auction. Luckily for him, he ended up being bought by someone. Finally free from the life of pain and stares, Lampri thought he could be loved. But the buyer, though remorseful for this, ended up having to hide him from other dragons, who would call him a freak for his bright glow. Now, Lampri lives in a Cursed Chamber, away from everyone. The Buyer would visit him every day and every night, telling him stories of the world above and bringing him food and water. Lampri understands why he's kept away from other dragons- they all hate him. The constant orange glow that eminates from his body is a curse, given to him by greedy, power-hungry vermin. But it's ok, the Buyer tells him that its a beautiful light. He doesn't know the Buyer's name, but whoever he is, Lampri knows is the only one who will ever love him.

His familiar, Visi, is an insect Lampri met during his days in the slave trade. They appear to have some form of non-verbal communication between them, and share a close bond.
