Someone among the crew has to ensure the Fortuna stays on the right path, and this job has fallen into Rainier's capable claws. He spends hours studying maps and observing the weather, decides the best route and generally does his best to keep the ship safe and the crew out of trouble, navigating the currents with an expertise only the dragons who hold the closest ties to the ocean itself can. It is thanks to his skillful navigation that they can so freely sail without worries, and even if it means sometimes having to be awake a little later than what would be ideal to ensure they will not stray from the right path, Rainier will gladly do it.

Rainier was one of the first to become a part of the crew, before they could even find out Daemon's existence, brought on board by their captain when in their search for a navigator that would accept the life on the ocean among thieves and looters. While others may have reservations over a pirate crew, Rainier was perhaps a bit too quick to accept— not that anyone else really questioned it, when they needed skills like his. He has more than proven his worth ever since joining the crew, and despite his initial aloofness and loner tendencies, it's clear how much the crew has grown on him. He won't take lightly to anyone threatening harm to them, either.

Resides aboard the Fortuna with the rest of the crew, although he can more often be found on the deck or in the navigation room rather than his own cabin. Even the cabin itself has become more of a storage for various books and maps and tools rather than his living spaces.
