Astralyra

Astralyra (as-tra-LEE-rah), too, was adopted as an egg after the Astrolab crash scattered papers, eggs, experiments, and whatnot all across Sornieth. She grew up alongside Stellarion, and the two have always been close friends. Unlike Stellarion, though, as Astralyra matured, she proved much more of a warrior than typical for her kind. While her best friend did not understand this, he would, for the sake of their friendship, now and again turn his intellect to sparring with her, mainly to make observations on how she could fight more efficiently. She absolutely loved this, and although Stellarion did not, these bouts did continue to grow their friendship.

Eventually, once both had come fully of age, they flew to mate. Their first clutch consisted of only two eggs, which was a slight disappointment. However, they applied themselves diligently to their care, eagerly awaiting the day they would catch the first glimpse of their offspring. When this day happened to fall in the midst of the Warrior's Way festival, Astralyra could scarcely contain her excitement! What better portent of eventual strength and spirit than to hatch during a worldwide celebration of combative prowess? Her mate did not share this view, but as they together cared for their dragonlings, sharing their hopes and dreams, Astralyra couldn't wait for the time they could pass on what they had learned together.
