 Patecatl xxx | xxx | xxx | xxx Wind nest; Wind-touched Won from SkyLark34 in their Food Drive Raffle Coatl scroll 1/4/14 Patecatl is a god of healing and fertility in Aztec mythology. He is also the discoverer of peyote, and the 'lord of the root of pulque'. With Mayahuel, he was the father of the Centzon Totochtin ('four-hundred rabbits', who are divine rabbits and the gods of drunkenness).

The pale sun pulses gently in the clear winter skies of the Viridian Labyrinth. A dragon, midnight wings fluffed, the thin feathers shimmering under the filtered light, trudges through crackling leaves through the evergreen jungle. It stops before a looming cave, studying the address carved into the mossy rocks. "Is this the lair of Emmabird?" He calls into the cool depths. There is silence, then a commotion from within, before a creature emerges. Her scales are pale, those on her belly almost white, as she glances him over with her four emerald eyes, "Yes. My name is Betula, and you are- Oh, you must be the new dragon Keeper said was coming!" She stumbles back into the cave, fair wings flapping frantically. "Everyone, the newcomer's here!" The Skydancer feels his heart sink a little. "A Mighty Lair," He gasps, "In the vast Gladeveins, no less!" He thinks of his little lair back in the Snowfields, where he'd lived with his father for most his life, and takes a deep breath- A little thing waddles its way to the entrance of the cave, peering at him from behind rocks. It has stonewashed scales blue as the Everglade Skies, and it clutches desperately onto a glimmering pearl as big as its torso. The Skydancer can't help but stare at it. "You-" It stammers, green eyes searching, tongue not yet old enough for words, "You shiny." The midnight-winged Skydancer blinks for a second, silence forming as thickly as the falling leaves that carpet the earth, then lowers his head to hide a smile. Maybe he'd like it here after all.
