From a very young age cosmos was pushed into the obsessive, though really, he didn't need much convincing. He'd always been fascinated with the stars, outer space, what could be beyond their universe, though they know there isn't much they can do to reach out to touch anything, one would call it a hatching's flight of fancy if it weren't for the fact that her parents were so persistent in the pursuit as well.

Tirelessly reaching out with their magic to feel even a modicum of what a supernova could feel like, they pushed their child into a life similar to theirs, though he wouldn't be mad about it. Though, they were always relentless, tirelessly, it was a wonder why they had hatchlings at all.

When they had learned all she could learn from her parents, it was already more than enough. He had surpassed them, it was clear by the shimmers on his scales, ripples of what the sky would look like without an atmosphere, a beautiful, shimmering mass of stars and light.

Their parents didn't like that one bit. And he didn't mind that one bit, already being out the door as her lights shone. As his parents drifted off into a blurry memory of vague faces and stern lessons.

When they landed in the windswept plateau, he didn't expect to stay for long, it's journey to find a place to start a new clan where the atmosphere was thinnest, until he met a strange skydancer with similar goals, and their friendship began to form before he could think twice.

She's been here for quite some time now, old unhealthy habits of staying up weeks on end still a terrible issue, but, with a lot more care, he's finding a happy equilibrium of work and friendship.
