Among the first.

"Shadow Dragons like the darkness," the older dragon said, lifting a wing to stare down at her.

Starfang considered her soft golden fur. "You can't have shadow without the sun."

The other dragon frowned, easing down into the darkness of the caves they called home. "Something often said, but we are creatures of the shadow and the gloom."

Starfang stretched her wings. "You can't read in the dark," she said, shortly, got up and clambered up through the tunnel towards the surface.
