From the day they are born, Potent Nightshade can wield a powerful gift- they are either capable of nursing one back to health OR betray someone and leave them for their demise.

What their children all have in common is the inability to connect, there are a few who do have meaningful relationships amongst their lairs, but a majority of them have shut off their heart for connection. One would have to click with A Nightshade in order for them to open their heart.

Due to their flexibility, they are a great addition for any lair looking for a spy or even a doctor among them. Just don't expect them to be able to soothe a wailing hatchling with their apathy.
